Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Global Food Observatory ("GFO", "we", "us"), a product of Sequoia Analytics, websites at https://www.globalfoodobservatory.com and https://read.globalfoodobservatory.com and our subscription services. By accessing our site or subscribing, you agree to these Terms.

1. What GFO provides

Global Food Observatory is a professional signal intelligence service, operated by Sequoia Analytics (a business name registered in Ireland with the Companies Registration Office). We publish weekly signal scans, deep-dive reports, and market analysis covering global food commodities, agricultural trade, price dynamics, regulation, and related topics.

Our content is provided for informational and professional intelligence purposes only. Nothing published by GFO constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any commodity, security, or financial instrument.

2. Subscriptions

Free Preview — Access to selected free content and our weekly newsletter summary. No payment required.

Essential (€180/month or €1,800/year) — Full access to all weekly signal posts and newsletter.

Professional (€360/month or €3,600/year) — Full signal access plus all deep-dive reports and research archives.

Team (€720/month or €7,200/year) — Professional access for up to five named users within a single organisation.

Institutional (from €15,000/year) — Custom terms. Contact us at hello@globalfoodobservatory.com.

All prices are quoted exclusive of any applicable VAT or local taxes, which will be added at checkout where required.

3. Billing and payment

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle, depending on the plan selected
  • Payment is processed securely via Stripe. GFO does not store your payment card details
  • Annual subscriptions are billed as a single charge at the start of the subscription period
  • Prices are subject to change. Existing subscribers will receive 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect

4. Cancellation and refunds

Monthly subscriptions: You may cancel at any time. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused days in a monthly period.

Annual subscriptions: You may cancel at any time. If you cancel within 14 days of the initial annual charge and have not accessed any paywalled content, you are entitled to a full refund under EU consumer law. After 14 days, or where paywalled content has been accessed, annual subscriptions are non-refundable.

Exceptions: If GFO fails to deliver the subscribed service for more than 30 consecutive days, you are entitled to a pro-rata refund for the unserved period. Contact hello@globalfoodobservatory.com to request a refund review.

5. Access rights

A GFO subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access content within your subscription tier. You may not:

  • Share your login credentials with others not covered by a Team or Institutional plan
  • Reproduce, republish, or distribute GFO content in any form without written permission
  • Use GFO content in automated systems, AI training datasets, or commercial redistribution products
  • Scrape or systematically extract content from GFO websites

Team plans cover up to five named users within a single organisation. Users may not be shared across separate organisations.

6. Intellectual property

All content published by GFO — including signal posts, reports, analysis, editorial text, and visual assets — is the intellectual property of Global Food Observatory. All rights are reserved.

Subscribers may quote short excerpts (up to 150 words) with attribution to "Global Food Observatory" and a link to the original post. Full reproduction requires written permission.

7. Editorial independence

GFO does not accept payment for coverage, sponsored content, or editorially influenced analysis. Our signal framework and editorial judgements are made independently of commercial relationships. Subscribers and third parties cannot purchase editorial treatment.

8. Disclaimer

GFO content is based on publicly available sources and our editorial analysis. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, but we cannot guarantee the completeness or timeliness of all information. GFO accepts no liability for commercial decisions made in reliance on our content.

Market conditions can change rapidly. Signal classifications reflect the position at time of publication and should not be relied upon as current after 90 days without verification against subsequent GFO publications or primary sources.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Irish law. Sequoia Analytics is a business name registered in Ireland with the Companies Registration Office (CRO). Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under EU law.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Active subscribers will be notified of material changes by email with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
